Bradfield Festival Greek Theatre Wet Weather Policy
Every theatre performance is unique, but this is especially the case at an Open Air Theatre such as our Greek Theatre and other similar venues including Regents Park Open Air Theatre (which is the model for our wet weather policy below).
It’s best to come to an outdoor performance prepared for all types of weather: bringing your own shade in the afternoon is particularly important (though parasols are discouraged as they can obscure the view of those behind you!) as is often a jumper for the end of evening performances.
So too should sun hats, sun cream, sunglasses, raincoats and rain hats all be considered.
In particularly bad weather we may need to stop and re-start the show. To help us decide what to do, we regularly consult detailed weather forecasts. The health and safety of our performers and audiences is our primary concern and we will only stop and re-start a performance if it is deemed unsafe to continue.
On very rare occasions, it will not be possible for us to complete the performance, but we will never cancel a performance before the advertised start time due to weather. This is because you would be amazed how often it can rain all day and then clear up just in time for the action to start and indeed, how localised bad weather can be. Also we really don’t want to disappoint anyone – audiences or our performers.
In the unlikely event that the performance cannot be completed owing to bad weather, ticket holders are offered seats of equivalent value for another year’s festival or other public performance as part of Bradfield College’s Performing Arts regular Programme of Events. There is no time limit on exchanging your tickets, so long as you keep your original tickets.
When you’re ready to exchange:
Make sure you have your tickets. These need to be the original tickets you were issued with. Include details with your tickets of your full name and contact details, preferred exchange date and details of the performance that you would like exchange tickets to. You should then post your request to the address below:
Faculty of Performing Arts
On receipt of these tickets the box office will post or email your new tickets to you.
Please note that all exchanges are for equivalent value seats and subject to availability. All tickets are sold subject to our terms and conditions which includes a section on the weather. We do not give refunds for performances.
